Caldicot Skatepark Development
Maverick Skateparks has been working with Monmouthshire County Council to design an exciting new skatepark shaped by the people who will use it. Through engagement with local riders, skatepark users and the wider community, feedback has directly influenced the final layout, ensuring the facility reflects local needs while providing an inclusive space for all ages, abilities and wheeled sports disciplines.
The design combines a balanced mix of street and transition features, including a dedicated bowl and a welcoming street area connected to the main entrance. This space has been intentionally designed to support younger and less experienced riders as they build confidence, while carefully zoned areas allow beginners, families and experienced users to enjoy the facility safely and simultaneously. Generous spacing between features improves flow and safety, while interconnected zones create opportunities for more advanced riders to enjoy longer lines and transfers.
More than just a skatepark, this project will create a vibrant community space that encourages participation, supports healthy and active lifestyles, and brings people together. By placing local people at the heart of the design process, the finished facility will be a space that the community can be proud to call its own.

We are continuing to progress plans for the redevelopment of Caldicot Skate Park. Below are some frequently asked questions to help keep residents and users updated as the project moves forward.
At what stage is the project currently?
We are currently finalising the designs with Maverick and the Skate Park Committee. We hope to be able to share the updated designs by the end of the month.
Will the facility be closed over the summer?
No. The existing skate park will remain open during the summer school holidays.
When are the works likely to start?
We currently expect site works to begin towards the end of September 2026. Please continue to check this page, where we will provide regular updates as soon as further information becomes available.
How long will the skatepark be closed for?
The works are expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete. Subject to progress and any unforeseen circumstances, the new facility is expected to open in early 2027.
