Learning Experiences at Chepstow Museum for KS2
Chepstow Museum is a great place to explore the rich local history of this ancient town and port.
The Tudors
Our Tudor workshop is based upon the remarkable life of Chepstow resident Margaret Cleyton, a wealthy Tudor woman whose legacy can still be seen in the town today.
Using a range of authentic objects and costume, we explore many facets of Tudor life including food, health and hygiene and learning. We also visit Margaret’s tomb in St Mary’s parish church to discover what her monument tells us about her life, as well as taking a walk around Chepstow to reveal its Tudor past.
Servants, School and Shopping
Jumping forward in time, discover what life was life for people in Victorian Chepstow with our Servants, Schools and Shopping workshop.
Explore what life was like for a Victorian servant in Gwy House, Chepstow Museum’s home. Discover what you could buy on the High Street in 19th century Chepstow and experience a Victorian school lesson.
