Attack and Defend

Put your problem-solving skills to the test in our Attack and Defend workshop as your class explores the tools and techniques of medieval warfare.

Fabulous Feasting

Discover the rules of medieval dining and make food fit for a Lord in our Fabulous Feasting workshop as your pupils help the castle servants prepare a feast and entertainment for the Lord of Abergavenny.

Home and Hearth

Jumping forward in time, discover what life was life for people in rural Monmouthshire in the 19th century with our Home and Hearth workshop. Explore our Welsh kitchen, try your hand at rural crafts even do the washing!

Abergavenny in WW2

Abergavenny’s more recent history is explored in our World War Two workshop. Discover the surprising truth about who was resident in the town during the conflict and how the area prepared to resist occupation. Visit an authentic Anderson Shelter and explore a range of topics including rationing and Civil Defence.
