DESCRIPTION:This broad ranging and absorbing course needs no background in art history\, just a desire to look harder at art and understand its developments more clearly. This series of ten evening lectures takes us from 1880 and Post Impressionism through some of the first movements in Modernism. \nCourse Length – 10 weeks of one hour evening lectures (one week off for half term)\nCourse Dates – Monday 30th September – Monday 9th December (no class Monday 11th November)\nTime – 7pm – 8pm\nMedium – Online via Zoom (with recordings available afterwards)\nCourse fee – £55 \n(Recordings available so that any lectures missed can be caught within 4 weeks\, on Zoom) \nExploring one of the most dramatic periods in the development of art history\, our introductory series of ten evening lectures takes us from 1880 and Post Impressionism through some of the first movements in Modernism. Artists include Gauguin\, van Gogh and Cezanne\, showing how these pioneers pushed the boundaries of Impressionism to create something new; and Munch\, Matisse and Picasso who explored psychology\, colour and form in innovative and exciting pictures. \nTerms & Conditions\nBooking is only available online\, via this page.
